"Rise of The Galaxy"
Acrylic on canvas, 24"x 36".
Completed June 13, 2014
------------------------
This painting shows an imagined view from an exoplanet in a star system belonging to a satellite mini-galaxy which orbits around this Galaxy. (This is somewhat like the star systems in the Large Magellenic Cloud (LMC) which orbits around our own Milky Way Galaxy). As the Galaxy rises beyond the far mountains, an alien pauses to watch before commencing her evening walk alongside the Infinity Pool.

It's evening hour on this moon of a ringed exoplanet. The ringed planet, along with 5 other moons is seen rising beyond the mountains. Lower left, an alien princess interrupts her evening walk along the cliff-side to watch the planet rise...

 -----------------------------------------------------
View from the moon of a ringed exoplanet... As darkness sets in, the ringed planet rises on the left. Two other moons of the ringed planet can be seen above, on the left and right, showing up as crescents, like the planet itself.. In the lower right, an alien is out for an evening walk on the mountain pathway. Seeing the rise of the ringed planet, it stops to pray, at a simple wayside shrine before resuming her walk...

On The Moon of a Ringed Exoplanet, Acrylic on Canvas, (3 feet x 2 feet).
.
It's evening hour, on this moon of a ringed planet, in another part of our Galaxy... The ringed planet is seen rising beyond the mountains on the left , while its "Sun" will set on the right in a few "hours". Two other moons of the ringed planet can be seen in the top right.
.
Traffic appears normal at this evening hour on the highways in the lower right. A stream of  flying cars fly off to join the highway on the mountain-side on the left.
.
A close-up view of the lower right side of above painting is seen below..

A Binary Sunset, Acrylic on Canvas, (3 feet x 2 feet).
.
The painting shows the view from the moon of a ringed exoplanet in a binary-star system.
.
The binary stars are seen setting on the left, casting a reflection on the crater lake. The ringed planet is shown setting on the right. Both the ringed planet and this moon orbit around the binary stars. Binary star systems are common in our Milky Way Galaxy:  About one-third of the star systems in our galaxy are actually binary or multiple star systems.
.
On the lower left, an alien watches momentarily before descending the steps, and commencing an evening stroll on the pathway along the shore of the crater lake.

Spacescape:  "Rise of the Galaxy", (2 ft x 1.5 ft), Acrylic on canvas, May 15, 2011.
(Click on the image for a larger view)

It's evening hour, in a river valley on this exoplanet. The slanting rays from the planet's star (its "Sun") reach only the top of the mountains. A neighboring galaxy rises beyond the far mountains. Since this planet is in the outskirts of its galaxy, the neighboring galaxy appears quite large from here. Below, an alien watches this dramatic scene from an observation ledge, before resuming her evening walk on the pathway along the cliff-side.

Space-scape: "Andromeda Rising" (Click on the painting for a larger view)
Acrylic on Canvas, (36" x 24")
.
The view from an exoplanet, which is in the outer edges of our Milky Way Galaxy. From here, the neighboring Andromeda Galaxy appears much larger and brighter. In the lower right, an alien prince and princess watch Andromeda rise beyond the crater mountains. A short runway for space crafts can be seen below where they are standing. Lights from a distant township can be seen on the far shores of the crater lake.

"Seascape on an Exoplanet"
Acrylic on Canvas, (48" x 24")
.
A seascape, on a planet of a star system in the outer edges of our Milky Way Galaxy. From here, the neighboring Andromeda Galaxy appears much larger, and it is seen to rise beyond the horizon along with its two satellite, mini-galaxies (M32 & M110). In the lower left, an alien princess has come to here to spend the evening. Prone to bouts of violent temper, she has discovered that watching the sea waves has a certain calming effect on her nerves. Soon she will take full control, and will have to deal with two troublesome political factions, both opposed to monarchic rule on the planet.

Spacescape: "Mid-Day On An Exoplanet", December, 2010
Acrylic on Canvas, 48" x 24".

Three of this planet's many moons have risen beyond the far mountains. In the lower right, two aliens have climbed up to the cave for a lunch break. Both are workers at the chemical factory below, and this is lunch hour. A cargo aircraft takes off on the runway, carrying chemicals to other parts of the planet, while a nuclear power plant emits steam in the far left.
